How can I change the library system that I use?

Changing the library’s computer system is simple if you follow this tried and true procedure. Have you given any thought to the prospect of switching to a new library system? That you’ll have to spend hours entering data again into your new system, which will need you to do so? Or the possibility that your data may become jumbled?

Library management system - Integrated library software

You shouldn’t be worried about it at all. We have assisted hundreds of customers in making the transition to one of our platforms. Bailey Solutions will take care of the majority of the laborious tasks for you and ensure that everything goes off without a hitch.

Step 1

We will inquire about your personal information. Either your IT department can provide it to us, or if you give us access to your system, we can get it from there. You just have two options. During this first phase, you are free to continue working in the same manner as before using your previous system.

Step 2

We compile a list of all of the data fields that were present in your previous system and then assign each one to the appropriate field in the new library management system.

Step 3

In order to import your data into your new system, one of our programmers will develop a data conversion application.

Step 4

At this time, we are able to provide you with a cost-free online session that will demonstrate how to check your data. You are now able to examine the data that is already in your system and make any necessary requests for adjustments to the manner in which the data was imported.

Step 5

Once you are happy with everything, we ask you for data from your live system. This second time, the data import is much faster, as everything is ready for you. We know it’s important that you have as little downtime as possible.

Step 6

When the live data for your account are ready, we will let you know. The only thing that has to be done is moving any bookmarks, shortcuts, or links from your old system over to your new one.

That is the simplest way to put it! The entire procedure takes around two to four weeks to complete and is supervised by a library consultant. We are here to assist you in getting off to a strong start with the new library system that you have purchased. Also, please keep in mind that our schedule is based on your availability.
